terms of service

By becoming a member of an official group (ex: DeviantArt groups, Discord servers), registering an account on a website created by us for the IP, or by coming into ownership of a frigate chaser design, you agree that you will not, at any point:

  • Claim ownership of the species or it's associated official works

  • Claim to be the creator of the species or it's associated official works with the exception of Smooshkin, the original designer of the species and legacy resources

  • Claim to be an administrator or moderator of the species community

  • Create new Frigate Chasers, whether for personal or commercial use, without explicit permission from us

Members will be expected to adhere to these terms, conditions, and rules. We reserve the right to limit, or terminate, any person’s permission to use our IP due to a breach in the TOS, and/or rule breaking.

Code of Conduct

Community members are expected to remain civil with one another while interacting within communal spaces, and will be held to a reasonable moral standard. If a member is deemed harmful to the community through any of the points below, they will be subject to review and, likely, removal.

Behaviors deemed intolerable include:

  • Discrimination, harassment, or prejudice against others on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic, and/or knowingly associating with individuals who violate these terms

  • Evidence of members partaking in some illicit and/or immoral activities

  • Inappropriate behavior directed towards, or exhibited around, minors

  • The discussion of NSFW topics within communal spaces

  • Excessive venting within communal spaces involving potentially triggering issues

  • Excessive aggression, namely in the form of threats and insults

Removal from the community entails a ban from all spaces, events, and activities, and in extreme cases may result in a total disallowance of a person's continued usage of the IP. Should bans meet certain criteria, they may be appealed and potentially lifted either partially, or fully.

Design Ownership

Frigate Chaser designs fall under three different categories: Premade, MYO (Make Your Own), and DTA (Draw To Adopt).

"Premade designs" encompass any design pre-created by an official or guest designer for the purpose of sales, giveaways, or contests. While custom designs aren't technically premade, they're still classed in the premade category due to having no differing rules associated with them.

You may, at any time: resell, trade, or gift any premade Frigate Chaser that you own. Exchanges may be made for any monetary amount and/or possessions deemed fitting by a design's owner.

"MYO designs" encompass any design created through the use of a "MYO coin", or other permissions that allow one to design their own Frigate Chaser. Unused MYO coins and non-coin permissions are also classed in this category, but have different rules than designed MYOs.

You may, at any time: resell, trade, or gift any designed MYO Frigate Chaser or unused MYO coin that you own. Exchanges for designed MYOs may be made for any monetary amount and/or possessions deemed fitting by a design's owner. Monetary exchanges of unused MYO coins may only be done for the original price of the coin, or less. Non-coin MYO permissions may not be exchanged at all, and doing so will void their validity for both the original, and new owner.

"DTA designs" encompass any design pre-created by an official or guest designer for the purpose of serving as a grand prize in a Draw To Adopt contest.

The sale, trading, and gifting of DTA designs created onwards of the year 2020 is prohibited. Eligible DTA designs are considered group property and are lended out to the first place winners of their respective contests for personal use. Should the winner no longer wish to use their DTA design, it can be returned to the group to be lended out to another participant of its respective contest.

The only case in which we will forcibly change the ownership of a design is if the winner of a DTA contest is fully banned from the IP. Otherwise, banned individuals retain ownership of their designs and may use them however they see fit outside of the context of the IP.

We are under no obligation to resolve any disputes arising from the change in ownership of a Frigate Chaser design.

Design Co-ownership

No official form of co-ownership over Frigate Chaser designs is officially supported; ownership can only be granted to one individual per Frigate Chaser. Should any disputes over the ownership of a design arise, the current owner listed on the design’s masterlist profile will be defaulted to.

Derivative Works

Member created “non-canonical” settings that use some, but not all, of the provided informational writings in favor of adding their own aspects are permitted under the conditions that the persons involved don't:

  • Claim to be the creator or owner of any aspects taken from the official works

  • Claim that your derivative work is a canonical replacement of the official work

  • Attempt to sell any rights to aspects of the official work

  • Create new Frigate Chaser designs, whether they be for personal use, or to sell, trade, or give away

  • Create your own independently run community involving Frigate Chasers without explicit permission from the owners

The Frigate Chaser IP was created by Smooshkin.
